This Week in Comedy: Greg Proops, Ron Josol, and Todd Graham

This week we feature comedians that have toured the Middle East, appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience, and even someone touted by the National Post as not, 'unfunny. Follow me as I walk you through This Week In Comedy...

SUN OCT 6 / GREG PROOPS / COMEDY BAR / 945 BLOOR W / 7PM / $20

Everyone knows Proops from his regular appearances on Whose Line Is It Anyway?, but what you might not know is that he's become popular for his stand-up and podcasting, recently appearing on the Joe Rogan Experience. It's almost unfair that he's also smart, because when you combine his improv background and stage IQ, he's...ugh, such a compelling act to watch!

WED OCT 9 - SUN OCT 13 / RON JOSOL / YUK YUK'S / 224 RICHMOND W / 9PM / $20

Headlining Yuk's this week is Ron Josol, who's a staccato powerhouse on stage. I saw him headline a smaller venue in Brampton, trying out new jokes, and he had the audience dying from bell to bell. He has so much material that I found myself laughing while listening to him as he continued on into his next joke. He's done comedy in Dubai guys...Dubai.

FRI OCT 11 / TODD GRAHAM & FRIENDS / THE LOT / 100 OSSINGTON / $10 / 10PM

He was recently touted by the National Post as not 'unfunny' and I don't think Todd would have it any other way. Many comics, in stark contrast, have often labelled him as one of their favourite comedians to watch in Toronto. Pay special attention to Nigel Grinstead. What makes him stand out? I can't put my finger on it. Dude's just funny. You're just going to have to take my word for it.

About the Author: This is Michael Jagdeo, and I refuse to write about myself in the third-person. My blog, Diary of a Stand-up Comedian, walks you through the up's and down's (they're mostly down's, really) in my quest to become a killer comic in Toronto.
