Cheap Lobotomy Services in Toronto

For just $300, you can have a part of your brain sliced away. And the first 30 customers "get to keep the ice pick" as a memento. Say goodbye to your problems!

One of the more interesting and controversial installation pieces at Nuit Blanche this year was by Toronto's Dan Bergeron (aka fauxreel). Well known to Toronto, Dan took his billboard hack style one step further this time. By including a live phone number and recording the messages left by his viewers, he was able to make his piece interactive.

If you're at work or have kids around, use headphones (coarse language alert):

It seems that a fair number of Torontonians are open to the idea of having their prefrontal cortex sliced and diced to restore their sanity. Others take offence to the notion.

The phone number is still live, and taking messages.

Thanks, Dan, for sharing your audience reaction with us.

We called the number, but got a busy signal. Everyone around was calling it at the same time, we saw them.

We called and it just rang til we were disconnected. No machine... we'd really been looking forward to some hilarious recording. Ah well. Maybe it shut down once it was full.

Someone left a comment on my blog, saying that they did the reverse number lookup and it turned out to be some kind of tantra place.

I called it at 10:45am today, and after it rang many times, I got a voicemail greeting advertising the lobotomy services. Just called again now and it's still active!

I called during Nuit Blanche but didn't get an answering machine.
