Il Bordello is Hiring and We Are Too

While we may not be able to compete with the likes of Il Bordello, blogTO is nevertheless embarking today on a new round of recruiting for new contributors. Work for us is mostly legal and pay is, well, I'm not sure if I've heard too many people describe it as great.
But, um, joining our team of avid PETA supporters and their hangers-ons sure can be fun, and hella different than your typical writing, photography or freelance gig. And there is some pay and benefits like free access to "stuff".
So, what are we looking for in a new member of the blogTO team?
Mostly, we're looking for people who are passionate about Toronto, active in the local arts, music, film or whatever-they're-into scene, and able to express themselves - ideally in the written word, but photography is good too.
We're also keen on applicants who have time. It doesn't need to be oodles of time (this isn't intended to be a full time job), but at least a few hours a week to dedicate to making posts on blogTO is a good start.
Subject-wise, we're most in need of new contributors who can add to one or more of the following coverage areas:
1. Random Toronto news coverage
2. City politics, transit and other hot-button issues
3. Restaurant, Cafe, Bakery and/or Bar Reviews
4. Local arts coverage
5. Profiles of local art galleries
6. Local film news and events
7. Local music news
8. Local fashion news
9. Profiles of men's fashion stores
10. Local environmental news and initiatives
11. Coverage of the local tech scene and events
12. Local "sex news" and events for our TnO section.
13. A new host for the Toronto Indie Music podcast
If any of the above interest you, please drop us a line at jobs [at] blogto [dotcom]. In your email, please indicate the following:
1. Tell us something about yourself and why you're interested in joining the blogTO team
2. Send us links to your personal blog or Flickr account (if applicable) or samples of any other writing or relevant experience you might have
3. Indicate which of the above coverage areas you're interested in
We aim to respond to all applicants who send us an email with all the above information. Sadly, if we receive a large volume of emails, we'll likely not respond to anyone who simply writes us things like "I'm interested. Tell me more." Or, alternatively, sends us a cover letter and resume. Please don't do this. We don't care about your resume. And we hate reading formulaic cover letters. A nice explanation of the above in the body of the email works just great. Thanks.
