Never go to a Toronto concert alone again

There's probably never been more opportunities to take in live music in Toronto, but few people want to concert-hop alone. Even if the music proves to be absorbing, all that time waiting for your favourite band to get set up is ripe for some conversation over a beer or two.

This new Toronto app wants to make concert-going a more social experience by connecting people prior to shows. The concept is pretty simple: take concert listings and add members/groups who indicate that they're attending. People can then mingle via Facebook and make plans to get together before or at the show.

One doesn't have to say too much about him or herself when joining a group, as the idea is that the concert/music is a starting point for social interaction. You'll have to answer to your preferences regarding meat and booze, but that's about it. The app is a facilitator rather than a platform for discussion.

What do you think? Can Meet on the Way make concert-going in Toronto more social?
