You can own a massive piece of Lake Ontario for $60 million

Lakefront property is a highly sought after commodity in the real estate market. But a new listing for sale near Toronto is offering buyers a little more than just a pretty view.

Located at 600 Liverpool Rd. in Pickering, this listing is selling a "once in a lifetime" opportunity to own 134 acres of protected bay, a marine business and a banquet facility, all overlooking Lake Ontario.

Aside from owning the over 130 acre large Frenchman's Bay, the buyer would also be gaining 34 acres of Lake Ontario itself.

"It's a very unique piece of property," James Kelly, sales representative with Re/Max Hallmark First Group told blogTO.

"I don't believe there's another piece of property in North America quite like it," he said.

This rare listing predates confederation in Canada and is marketed as a development opportunity for buyers with creativity.

Listed earlier this month, it even provides a concept for buyers to imagine the possibilities of what the property could evolve to, including proposed floating homes and a floating pontoon for recreational use.

These possibilities are even imaginable due to the residential zoning that gives owners the ability to develop the property.

"You're limited by your own imagination," Kelly said, noting "very serious interest" in the listing.

"It's a jewel in the crown."

The listing is also located near a beach point promenade and beach front park, along with Petticoat Creek Conservation Area.

Annual property taxes sit at $139,057.
