If you're a fan of these weekly roundups, you're probably well aware of Southern Souls, the independently run website that captures candid performances by indie artists and, in my opinion, one of the best music websites in Canada. If you share that opinion, please go vote for them over on the CBC Radio 3 poll. They've made it to the top ten and could use your vote. Here is the free MP3 to accompany the above video from The Liptonians. [MP3]

Snowblink - "The Tired Bees"
With Canadian Musicfest this week, the fine folks over at Chromewaves have a nice little roundup featuring downloads from artists playing the festival. Toronto's Snowblink is amoung them with their track "The Tired Bees." [MP3]

The Darcys - "The House Built Around Your Voice"
Another track via Chromewaves that I couldn't pass up. The Darcys are one of my favourite local bands going today; they're hardworking, extremely talented and, above all else, make good tunes, which you'll be able to hear at one of their many live shows or their forthcoming LP that has been, for me, too long in the making. [MP3]

Jennifer Castle - "Neverride"
Folk artist Jennifer Castle has recently dropped her Castlemusic moniker in favour of releasing under her given name, though she isn't straying far from it as her upcoming album is carrying the brand, which is due out on April 26 via Flemish Eye. The label has released the first track from the record and you can download it here. [MP3]

Travis Caine & The Lasting Effect - 5 Strings
In spite of all the CMW craziness going on, I'm actually getting the heck outta dodge for the festival/conference. My band, Travis Caine & The Lasting Effect, is heading out on tour with Pete Vandyk starting next week with dates in Oakville, Hamilton, Guelph and eventually our big homecoming April 9 at the Cameron House. We've dropped our debut EP down to the PWYC price (including free) in celebration of the Ontario Howlin' tour. [DOWNLOAD]
