How to get a pair of Depeche Mode Tickets for $3778.45

Depeche Mode is coming to Toronto on Juy 24th, 2009. It's going to be a super hot ticket. Want tickets? Don't go to Ticketmaster - they don't have tickets yet. What about TicketsNow (a Ticketmaster company)?

A great seat, to a show not yet being sold at Ticketmaster.ca, is currently just $1284 at TicketsNow (but for this seat: sorry, you can't buy singles - you have to buy a pair). Add a $192.60 service charge (for each ticket!) and a shipping charge of $14.95.

Total is $2968.15 for the pair. But payment must be made in US dollars, which at today's exchange rate puts these babies at $3778.45 CDN all in (or $1889.23 CDN each).

But wait! The kind folks at TicketsNow have been kind enough to give us a $100 OFF coupon, ABSOLUTELY FREE! How sweet!

Thanks to blogTO reader Rebecca for tipping me off. If I could afford these seats, I'd gladly take you to the show.

UPDATE:
Less than one day after this article was posted, the tickets to the Toronto show have been removed from the TicketsNow site. Further digging has revealed that Depeche Mode fan forums contain plenty of complaints of similar nature. Maybe the band's management got involved, and finally put an end to it? Do the bands really have any say in this all? We can only hope so.
