Toronto's young Jeopardy! champ Mattea Roach is making her big return to the show

The Toronto Gen Zer who rose to international fame on Jeopardy! earlier this year is coming back to TV screens in November to represent Canada and the 6ix yet again, this time in the Tournament of Champions.

Twenty-three-year-old Mattea Roach (whose 24th birthday is Wednesday) became a fan favourite when she appeared on the legendary quiz show in April and began kicking some serious butt, earning herself the title of fifth-longest winning streak ever in the show's history with 23 consecutive games, and also fifth-biggest earnings.

The U of T grad, tutor and now-podcaster was able to pay off her student loans early on in her Jeopardy!, eventually going on to win a whopping $560,983 USD purse by May.

Clearly a fan of the show herself, Roach, who is originally from Halifax, later said "I really don't feel like I deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as [other champions] to be honest" – something that viewers certainly seem to disagree with given how much they enjoyed watching her compete and how strongly they supported her run.

Roach will appear in the tournament starting November 8 alongside other champs, and will surely continue to make us Canadians proud.
