Toronto getting a multi-screen panoramic movie theatre

If Toronto's 4DX or virtual reality cinemas don't do it for you, perhaps a multi-screen, panoramic movie theatre will get you excited. And you can experience it yourself later this month.

Cineplex is rolling out three Barco Escape auditoriums this summer, including one at Toronto's Scotiabank Theatre, along with one in Vancouver and Edmonton, respectively.

Barco Escape is supposed to create a more immersive experience for moviegoers and best of all, you'll be able to see Star Trek Beyond in this new-fangled format. But take note because only the first 20 minutes will be screened in Barco. Tickets for the July 22 premiere go on sale today.

Cineplex hopes to show one Barco film per month, including Director Scott Waugh's 6 Below (starring Josh Hartnett!), which is reportedly the first feature film shot just for Barco.
