Union Station movies Toronto

Free outdoor movies at Union Station starts tonight

For a cheap night out in Toronto, look no further than Union Station. Along with its newly opened food market, the transit hub will be showing movies in the Sir John. A Macdonald Plaza all summer long. Best of all, these screenings, which start tonight and run every Wednesday until August 31, are completely free.

Each movie in the summer-long lineup either features an iconic train-related scene or is thematically linked to some sort of journey. Prior to each feature, the folks at Union Station will screen a NFB short. Hurrah for CanCon!

Here's what you can expect to see this summer:

  • June 29 - Stand By Me
  • July 6 - Triplets of Belleville
  • July 13 - Wizard of Oz
  • July 20 - Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
  • July 27 - Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
  • Aug. 3 - Silver Streak
  • Aug. 10 - Room with a View
  • Aug. 17 - Some Like it Hot
  • Aug. 24 - Murder on the Orient Express
  • Aug. 31 - Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

Stand By Me starts at 9 p.m. tonight and every other movie will begin at sunset.
