Les Nomades film festival kicks off tonight

Can you hear it - the sound of film projectors whirring to life all over town? Film festival season is officially upon us, with the Toronto Singapore Film Festival happening this weekend, and Les Nomades kicking off tonight. And they're just the opening salvo in a battle for your cinemabucks that will take us straight through to June: Hot Docs, Images, Sprockets, and many more are all ganging their way onto the screens in Toronto's festival-packed springtime.

Les Nomades vies for our attention as Toronto's international french-language short film festival. It's a classy affair with a lot of great content devoted to the screening, production and promotion of Francophone filmmaking. The show kicks off tonight at the Drake with 2 programmes (7:00 and 9:00) of films from Angele Diabang Brener, Juan Solenas, Geoffroy Barbet Massin, and those playful nuts at Urbania. And just think how bilingual you'll feel afterwards!
