Word spread yesterday that the retail side of the Well and Good Gallery (561 Queen Street West) will be closing its doors for good at the end of June. It's likely that high Queen Street rents and a lack of traction for the Australian M-One-11 clothing brand contributed to its demise.

It's too bad. Owner Steve Ferrara had put a lot of work into the the good-looking store and helped create one of the better shopping experiences in the city with the addition of the large gallery space in the back.

The good news is that the Well and Good gallery brand is not dead. It will continue to live on through art shows taking place elsewhere at least until the end of the year.

This Saturday will be the last day for the store. It will be open from 12-8pm and likely be a good chance to pick up some hard-to-find clothes and shoes at discount prices.
