Holt Renfrew presents Merry Making Mischief

Holt Renfrew recently unveiled their Holiday windows. It was a horrible night, pissing rain and cold. Last year's unveiling was amazing. I crashed the VIP section with a friend. We browsed the floors and ate the treats left for use along the way. We ended up at the lounge drinking and eating for the rest of the night. I love scoring free food and alcohol.

This year there was no VIP section and the store was open to the public. My friend was late and I wasn't going to stand outside so I said screw the show. Instead of watching The Rockettes and the Philosopher Kings, I got a tour of the new handbag area by Patrick, a Holt's sales associate and all around nice guy. Holt Renfrew recently expanded the space and created a handbag lovers paradise. Patrick took me around the world in handbags. At each stop, he would talk about the company and the bag's signature traits for the season. I noticed that there were tables of sweets, Perrier and water stationed around the store this year. I ate a few cookies on the first floor. On the second floor, they had those great little fruit tarts and I was in heaven. Holt's delivers for a second season, those fruit tarts are better than alcohol.

I didn't see the windows until I was leaving. It was still miserable out and there were many people wandering about. Merry Making Mischief is the title of this season's display. It takes weeks for this to come together and you can see why. They are densely packed; products and props are everywhere. The windows are ostentatious, decadent, playful and sexy. It looks like a party I would love to attend, but that could be all the Moet lying around in vast quantities.

I returned on a better night and took a whole slew of pictures this time. They are much better in person and at night. Go down in person or see the pictures after the jump.
