Toronto pizza joint permanently closes all of their locations

A Toronto pizza joint that once had two thriving locations now has zero, as their last location closed permanently a little while back.

Village Pizza was known for their thin-crust pies with toppings that went beyond pepperoni and included vegan options.

They have now closed their original Dovercourt location, following the closure of a Dundas West location which had opened after it.

The two restaurants had changed hands from the people who were originally running them, passed along to Yauca Almeida who ran a lounge next to the original Dovercourt restaurant.

Bloorcourt BIA confirms with blogTO that Village Pizza has been closed on Dovercourt for around a couple months now.

Pizza lovers in the area need not despair, though: a brand new pizza place is springing up in the same spot where Village Pizza once used to be.

Mac's Pizza has been bouncing around to different restaurant spaces, but has announced it's officially moving into the space at 759 Dovercourt.

Mac's is known for relatively simple but well-executed pies, and from the looks of social media it seems like the space will have an old school look with lots of white and some green checkerboard accents.

Mac's owner Josh McIlwaine doesn't have a definitive opening date for the restaurant's new permanent home on Dovercourt yet.
