Winter beer events in Toronto are an excuse to get out an socialize in your snow pants. The calendar isn't quite as full as in the summer, but there's still plenty of good reasons to raise a frosty glass during the winter months in Toronto. And, hey, now's as good a time as ever to test the theory that beer warms your soul.

Here are my picks for the top beer events in Toronto this winter.

Hoppy Holidays - Tuesday, December 8, 2015
Drink Inc. presents this Craftmas Beer Experience on Tuesday, December 8 at the Berkeley Church (315 Queen Street East). Look forward to seasonal brews, one-off creations, yuletide beer-based cocktails and a menu of beer-friendly sample-sized foods. Admission is $25 in advance (including five drink vouchers) or $35 at the door.

12 Beers of Xmas - Saturday December 12, 2015
The annual holiday beer event at The Gladstone Hotel (1214 Queen Street West) will pair delicious suds from a dozen craft breweries with good cheer and a whole bunch of ugly sweaters on Saturday, December 12. Tickets are already sold out, but for lucky attendees, the $25 price tag includes all-you-can-taste plus live performances by local DJs and bands followed by Shameless Karaoke!

The Society of Beer Drink Ladies - January 29, 2016
The location of the next Bevy has yet to be announced (it's always a secret), but go ahead and mark the date down in your calendars and don't forget that tickets go on sale the second Friday of the month. The events are a chance for beer-loving ladies to congregate and mingle over one-off beers brewed just for the occasion.

Roundhouse Winter Craft Beer Festival - January 30. 2016
Steam Whistle's annual outdoor beer festival will takeover Roundhouse Park on Saturday, January 30 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets for this frosty beer event are $20 in advance or $25 at the gates. The first block of tickets are already sold out, but new ones go on sale January 6 at noon.

FeBREWary - February 2016
Beau's month-long celebration of craft brews takes place amidst the darkest days of winter. Details have yet to be released, but look forward to new beers released every week, Gruit Day festivities on February 1, and tap takeovers and events hosted by pubs and restaurants citywide.
