Taste of the Danforth

Taste of the Danforth draws massive crowds

The 18th annual Taste of The Danforth is on this weekend. And while Toronto's most popular street festival is often met with mixed reviews, the massive crowds must indicate they're doing something right. Gauging from the reaction on Twitter, this sentiment this year seems more positive than most. Sure, there's the usual gripes about long line-ups, no parking and overpriced souvlaki but with a massive amount of food and entertainment on display you could almost say there's something for everyone.

For first-timers just don't go expecting this to be a Greekfest. The Danforth has changed a lot over the years and Thai and sushi restaurants are quickly starting to outnumber those featuring traditional Mediterranean fare. Check out the tweets and photos below from the first 12 hours of this year's festival. Also, stop by Crema Coffee while you're there to pick up a complete set of our neighbourhood maps.
