Re-opening soon?

The Lakeview Lunch recently shut it's doors leaving local fans of brunch starved for options. Located at 1132 Dundas Street at Ossington, The Lakeview was the only restaurant on that block that offered up delicious eats at all times of the day.

Living just around the corner, I actually wasn't the biggest fan of the ole LL, but now that it's gone I miss having them as an option. The Lakeview was my backup. Always there for me when I needed to grab takeout or when I was too lazy to walk further for delicious brunch food. And now that they're gone I am a little let down that they gave up on me.

But, when I read in Eye Magazine that the cooks were rude, the staff was unhappy and the long wait times were due to a shortage of food, I thought "farwell substandard restaurant" and had faith that the new owners would change this place for the better. With fingers crossed I hoped for a new and exciting change on my corner.

The wait wasn't long and there is now crookedly painted "opening soon" sign with the promise of new management shoved in the front window. I want to overlook the poor workmanship of the sign, but I can't help but wonder what sort of message it is sending out. Is it really new management? Will it be exactly the same restaurant? How are the fries?

Alas, my questions go unanswered until the moment those doors swing open. Fire up those deep fryers, I'm a coming!
