Toronto could have its biggest tourist year ever in 2016

Toronto is super popular these days. And it's not only Drake who's in love with our city. According to Tourism Toronto, we're slated to a break a record for the number of overnight guests visiting our city, largely thanks to events such as the NBA All-Star weekend, along with upcoming tournaments such as the World Cup of Hockey and the world junior hockey championships.

Last year, we host 14 million overnight visitors, and we're on pace to beat that number for 2016. As CBC notes, our weak Canadian dollar is also helping to attract tourists, especially from the United States.

Apparently we're also a popular destination for those visiting from Mexico, China and Japan.

And while sporting events certainly draw crowds, it sure helps that Drake's Toronto-centric VIEWS is sitting atop the Billboard 200 chart for the ninth consecutive week.
