It was a historic Pride Parade in Toronto this year for more reasons than one. Justin Trudeau became the first Prime Minister to march, but moments devoted to the victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando and a sit-in by Black Lives Matter all punctuated the most politically engaged Pride festivities in recent memory. The energy was palpable, the floats dazzling, and the scene beautiful.
