Norm Kelly wants a The 6 sign in Toronto

Toronto's #6Dad is at it again. This time, city councillor Norm Kelly wants to cement Drake's reign over the city with three additional instagrammable Toronto signs that spell out "The 6," "T.O." and "T. Dot," reports the Toronto Star today.

The Ward 40 councillor submitted a motion to council asking the city to consider the possibility of installing these three additional signs.

In the motion, Kelly recommends that the city consider private sponsorship for this project. That's probably a wise idea because as the Star notes, the original Toronto sign at Nathan Phillips Square cost $100,000.

Kelly thinks these pop-culturally relevant signs will help further our city's brand. "Torontonians from all ends of the City and tourists from all over the world come down to the square to snap a shot or selfie with the sign," he writes in the motion.

"Using Toronto nicknames to further expand this initiative will reinforce the modern, 'cool' Toronto brand and allow easier access to those not near City Hall to enjoy the variety of Toronto's signature signs and take pictures with them."

Now we'll just have to wait and see what happens at the next all council meeting on November 3.
