toy car parking toronto

No parking for toys!

Spotted in the blogTO Flickr pool tonight is a cute (normally I despise that word, but it's completely appropriate here) photo of a unique parking violation. It's definitely not worth going into some feigned criticism of the image for the sake of adding some text to a post, but I do have one question: is there a tow truck driver out there who's predatory enough to impound this thing?

Also noteworthy -- and my one little touch of analysis -- is the perspective and selective focus that the photographer, Kim Yokota, has adopted to make the toy jeep seem even more small than it really is. It kind of reminds me of a William Eggleston's photo of a tricycle, at least in the way that the hydrant towers over the jeep.

Anyway, as I've probably already made clear, I love photos like this, and I suspect that it might be worth a smile or two. Great find, Kim!

If you see wacky, strange or just noteworthy scenes on the streets of Toronto, be sure to add them to the blogTO Flickr pool.
