What's happening in the GTA (and sometimes beyond):

CityNews' web site got a redesign and updates and now includes a key feature that was previously sorely lacking - reader comments! I'm not sure why it took them so long, but I'm glad they've finally got what other news media have had for a really long time.

A drive-by shooting at Kipling & Finch in Rexdale is the latest in a surge in gun violence in the area, and has police vowing to crack down on the problem that's terrorizing the neighbourhood. The word of authorities can't be much reassurance for residents though - this is the second drive-by in 24h and the third shooting incident this month.

Goofing around sometimes results in grave circumstances. A 27-year old fell 10 meters at the Yonge-Dundas AMC theatres, after hopping up onto the escalator railings and falling over.

Cadillac-branded cologne? A Toronto entrepreneur is hoping that his idea to market a fragrance on the coattails of the luxury car brand is a good one. I'm not convinced, but then again, I don't think this is targeted at 20- and 30- somethings.

And for those of you who were out and about this weekend, melting in the summer heat that finally has arrived, here's a recap of what blogTO was up to:
