What's happening in the GTA (and sometimes beyond):

Forget about a second term for Obama - Arnold Schwarzenegger will be the US President in 2012. CityNews talks conspiracy with the folks at the Conspiracy Culture book store.

In a rare move, Toronto Police have released an extremely graphic video of the aftermath of the scene of a 2006 stabbing murder, in hopes that new leads might result. I just watched the video, and am genuinely puzzled at how this might in any way help the case. I hope I'm wrong.

An OPP officer is amongst the latest arrested and charged under the street racing law. She was caught driving an unmarked car, at 165km/hr in a 100km/hr zone, while on duty but without police business as a reason.

The province's elementary school teachers are still without a signed contract, as talks over pay increases continue. The province has put a final, non-negotiable offer on the table (10.4% increase over four years). These union contract renewal battles over pay hikes are seemingly all too common, and as the economy dives, it's going to be interesting to see unions continue to win and those not in unions continue to cry foul.
