Name: Cyrus

Age: 21

What neighbourhood are you from? Scarborough

What do you 'do'? Photo lab technician and a U of T student

How long have you been in Toronto? Four and a half years

What's your story?

I came from the Philippines four and a half years ago because my parents thought that the education and career options were better here. If I stayed in the Philippines, I would basically be a nurse.

I want to be a doctor but I'm really interested in photography and film directing. If I want to be something other than a doctor, then I can. I would be a film director.

Favorite thing(s) about Toronto:

The diversity. It's the most interesting part about Toronto. I get to meet different people and get to know their culture. You can have different dishes, too. It's like going to other countries but staying in Toronto.

Least favorite thing(s) about Toronto:

I would say the homeless people. When I first came here, I never thought Toronto would have homeless people.

You have 24 hours to spend with someone who's never been to Toronto before - what do you do?

Start at home or a hotel (if they're a special person) then go to the CN Tower because it's iconic to Toronto, try eating at different places and maybe go to Wonderland because it's summer. For nightlife, maybe go to Embassy bar. I've never been there but it might be interesting.

One thing that your friends/family don't know about you:

Although I look happy, I'm an emo. I'm really emotional sometimes.
