Name: Amery aka Abyss (my stage name)

Age: You might ask...I might not tell

What neighbourhood are you from? Parkdale

What do you 'do'? Well, I do multiple things. I am a child & youth worker. I work for the National Film Board. And I'm an Emcee. I perform and write music.

How long have you been in Toronto? All my life.

What's your story?

Right now, I am a striving - not starving - artist. I am close to completing my solo album with my producer/friend, Gigz. I have been making music for almost a decade. And I'm hoping this can be my full time job. You can hear my music at www.myspace.com/thabyss.

Favorite thing(s) about Toronto:

The people, the festivals, and especially the music scene.

Least favorite thing(s) about Toronto:

The smog, the dirt and smelly Lake Ontario.

You have 24 hours to spend with someone who's never been to Toronto before - what do you do?

Go to Kensington Market, Harbourfront, and the CN Tower. Dinner at Queen Mother. Walk up and down Yonge Street and Queen Street.

One thing that your friends/family don't know about you:

We are such a close-knit family, they know everything about me. Well, almost everything.
