$1 gas

Time to Update the Pumps?

When it costs $40 to fill half a tank of a Volkswagen Golf, I start to question whether it's time for this Shell gas station on Dundas West to update the little red push buttons. I mean, really, $1 of gas? What is that actually going to buy you these days?

Ok. I know. But even if you use the $1 in combination with another dollar amount I'm still not entirely sure what sort of difference it will make. And here's a tip. I asked the gas station attendant if people still use this feature and he said they do, but sometimes the buttons don't work properly.

He mentioned that from time to time someone will select $5 worth of gas but that the pump malfunctions and fills it with $20 or more. Since the gas station know the buttons are wonky they only charge the $5 in these sort of situations.

Want to try your luck? The gas station is at 2010 Dundas Street West.
