Your morning news roundup for Monday January 7th, 2008:

Much to the relief of thousands of commuters (and employees), Go Transit averted a looming strike. The union seems to have gotten everything they wanted. Maybe it's time we form a blogger's union ;)

The TTC are dealing with a bit of a public relations crisis after the tabloid media decided to highlight several homemade videos of drunken violence on the transit system. One video in particular (from September) is creating a lot of stir.

Police have charged the former principal and vice-principals of C.W. Jeffreys school, for allegedly failing to properly report and deal with a suspected sexual assault on a student.

A drunk driver that crashed into a vehicle and injured an elderly man before fleeing the scene is also an Ontario police officer. Bad, bad cop.

According to a source in the banking community, the chances of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) being bought by a Toronto billionaire (and perhaps saved from ongoing suckage) are about as good as the Leafs chances of winning the Stanley Cup.

* I'll be away (drinking tea, at a party) for the rest of the week, but our good friend RyanC will be making sure you still get your morning coffee!
