In Photos: Ukrainian Zabava Festival

If you have Ukrainian heritage in you, or if you're interested in it and you haven't yet made it out to Harbourfront for this weekend's Zabava Festival, today (Labour Day Monday) is your last chance!

I spent the afternoon on what was a gorgeous day on Sunday watching song and dance, browsing the marketplace, and learning the finer details of pysanky - the making of elaborately painted Ukrainian Easter eggs.

The move to Harbourfront, even though it moves the festival out of the Ukrainian community at Bloor West Village, was a great idea. The facilities at Harbourfront are perfect for such a wide array of exhibits and events.

One important tip: the queue for the perogie stand in the food tent can get ridiculously long, so get them when you can! :)
