Mirvish Village Pedestrian Sunday Cancelled... for a Street Party

Mirvish Village Pedestrian Sundays were a new addition this year, riding on Kensington's success, but already this month's has been cancelled.

Luckily, this is a full-blown, Mirvish-style sort of cancellation.

Bloor, from Bathurst to Markham, will be closed off to traffic this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for an Ed Mirvish memorial celebration street party, in the style of his birthdays. Mayor Miller is to declare August 12, 2007 "Ed Mirvish Day" at 11:30 (echoing a similar proclamation made by Mel Lastman in 2002) and the remaining seven hours will be filled with live entertainment, crazy discounts, free giveaways and various surprises.

Ed's parties have always been legendary, and this one is going to have to be epic enough to do justice to the legend himself - don't miss it.
