York U Goose Parade

York University's East Office Building has a rather unusual annual event that took place again last Tuesday:
The goose parade.

The EOB buildings form a courtyard in the middle which is only accessible from the offices. This has appealed to local Canadian geese, who find the peaceful spot to be perfect for nursing goslings.

Unfortunately, one year a raccoon got in and devastated the trapped goslings. From then on, staff have been waiting until the goslings have reached a suitable age and then herding the whole family into the offices, through the halls and out the other side to the nearby Michael Boyer woodlot and pond.

This year, a short but absolutely adorable video of the goose parade was shot and posted to YouTube.
