Authentic Poutine, on a Shoestring


For about the same cost as parking downtown, or the cost of a couple of beers at the bar, I can get myself all the way to Montreal. That's right - this summer, authentic poutine is just a few bucks away.

Coach Canada is making an attempt to revolutionize bus travel in Southwestern Ontario and Quebec this summer by offering super affordable one-way tickets to and from Montreal. I've seen the posters are all over the TTC, and more than one friend has mentioned it to me for good reason - it's dirt cheap.

While the touted $10 tickets are harder to come by (most have already been scooped up, apparently) there are some really good deals to be had, especially if you travel on weekdays. I just did a quick search and got a return trip in mid-June for a measly $31.11, taxes in!

I think I may take a few days off this summer and go play in Montreal. J'ai besoin d'une raison de pratiquer mon franรงais.
