Your morning news roundup for Monday April 30th, 2007:

At the Green Living Show this weekend our government was publicly spanked by more than one prominent environmental figure. David Suzuki confronted Canadian Environment Minister John Baird on the show floor, with a media scrum capturing it all, and travelling enviro-celebrity Al Gore called the newly released federal government green plan a "fraud" (CityTV video). Isn't it time for our leaders to listen to our scientists and stop protecting bursting wallets with smoke and mirrors?

Toronto police logged the city's 21st homicide this weekend, and once again are relying on video footage and the help of the public in identifying the suspect.

The TTC will honour accident victim Anthony Almeida by having all streetcars, buses, and subway trains stop for one minute, at 11am today.

Over 50,000 people rang in the Sikh New Year with a downtown parade that started at the CNE and ended at Nathan Phillip's Square yesterday. The weather couldn't have been better!

The Raptors are left clinging to their season after losing (very badly) to New Jersey last night, and now trail the best of 7 series 3-1. The Toronto FC also lost their home opener.

Crossroad Puzzles is on vacation in Tahiti and will return next week.
