Toronto Kicks Its Way into Guinness World Records Day

Instead of eating slugs or balancing chairs, Torontonians like to keep things simple when it comes to setting world records -- we like to kick up our heels.

In fact, 1,681 people showed up just before 9 a.m. today, and linked their arms in a line that circled around the Front Street Hummingbird Centre and performed the can-can for five minutes straight with the help of NYC's Radio City Rockettes and made a new mark on Guinness World Records Day.

Carey Low, a representative of Guinness World Records, confirmed that the dance line set a new world record. The previous record, set in Stein, Germany, in July 2004, was 1,150.

Other Toronto Guinness records previously include Yonge Street being the world's longest street and the CN Tower as the world's tallest building.

Now we're known for our awesome dance skillz too.
