Pole Placement - Leaving Room for Megabins?

These huge wooden poles have been installed in the middle of the sidewalk near the corners of Vaughn & St. Clair and Bathurst & St Clair... as far as I've seen so far.

Nearby signs advertised the company doing the work, but not what the work was actually for.

Pretty odd placement, not to mention dangerous if you aren't paying attention! Please keep your heads up from your ipod screens folks.

Hopefully they will not be anything permanent.
