Living Just Enough For The City

"Torontonians can comfort themselves with the fact that prices in many categories have come down, including insurance, new cars and clothing, Holt said."

This article intrigues me. Are we just a bunch of broke-ass whiners or is Toronto really a tough place to make a decent living?

For me personally, after rent, car payments, school loans, groceries and insurance, there isn't a lot left over. And this is coming from a single dude with no dependents. But the headline really irks me: Toronto's living costs rising, but reasonable. Translation: shut up and deal. Almost as if concerns around career mobility, "cost of living" wage increases, higher tuition fees and rising debt are totally dismissable.

For a lot of Toronto residents, "Living Just Enough For The City" is more than just a cool Stevie Wonder lyric.
