Not just spring, springFEST!

It just might be the biggest upcoming festival that nobody has even heard about...

SpringFest is a day-long celebration of multicultural arts happening this coming Saturday at Downsview Park. If I can believe what I'm reading in an e-mail I received about the event, it sounds like the perfect way to spend a Saturday in this newly warm weather.

Who'd want to miss out on this...

"Sample exotic foods, feel new rhythms, sing and dance to music from around the globe, and explore foreign art and folklore. Make and take crafts, interactive art exhibits and seminars, a vendor's marketplace featuring a variety of arts and crafts, mural painting, and demonstrations are all part of this cultural extravaganza

And that is just the little summary they've posted about what will happen. As of today a full schedule of all music, art, hands-on activities, etc etc is up on the Downsview Park site.

For those unfamiliar with Downsview Park, "Canada's first urban park", this is the same massive park that hosted World Youth Day a while back. Take the subway up to Downsview Station and then it's a short walk.
