Neon Bike Art Project Toronto

Shot of Art: Neon "good bikes" begin to propagate

The first signs of the Good Bike Project have started to pop up on Toronto streets. A fine looking green specimen now sits on the northeast corner of Dundas and Parliament, a blue bike is placed outside the Community Learning Centre at Regent Park, and a multicoloured version (see below) even made an appearance at last week's Pride festivities. The "good bike" team received their first delivery of 10 bikes from the City of Toronto about a week and a half ago, and held their first public painting event in Regent Park last Sunday.

On thing worthy of note as the bikes begin to hit the streets is that the example above does not use a public bike lock post for display purposes. This, of course, makes sense. Given the City's involvement in the project, it's not as if one of these art installations will be hauled away if it's locked to a piece of infrastructure normally not reserved for bikes.

Check out the good bike blog for more info/updates.
