Japan Foundation Poster Exhibition

The Japan Foundation is one of Toronto's hidden treasures. Maintaining one of Toronto's most beautiful libraries as well as gallery space, both free and open to the public, the JFT will be presenting a poster exhibition of The New National Theatre, Tokyo (NNTT) featuring Opera, Theatre and Dance productions from its inaugural year in 1997 to the present. JFT will house approximately 90 posters graced by the likes of designers Kazumasa Nagai, the late Ikoo Tanaka and Nobuyoshi Kikuchi.

The New National Theatre, Tokyo: Poster Exhibition, 1997-2006 will run from January 4 - March 4, 2006. The Japan Foundation, Toronto is located at 131 Bloor Street West, Suite 213, The 2nd floor of the Colonnade (across the street from the new Winners).

The JFT keeps weird hours: Mon.-Fri.: 11:30 A.M.-4:30 P.M., Thur.: 11:30 A.M.-7:00 P.M. It's closed on Saturdays & Sundays, however, it has created special Saturday openings: January 7 & 14, February 4 & March 4, Noon - 5:00 P.M. Admission is free and I would recommend making two trips as the JFT gallery exhibition as it is not something you can take it in at one shot.
