Occupy Toronto Police

Police reportedly set to move on Occupy Toronto

A report from Global News this evening indicates that Toronto police will move to evict Occupy Toronto protesters "in the pre-dawn hours on Wednesday." Although a number of occupiers packed up earlier today — including the two of three three yurts donated to the cause by Toronto unions — a small contingent remains in St. James Park. Most notably the yurt that houses the camp library has been fortified with a makeshift plywood wall, and is being protected by four protesters who have chained themselves to the structure.

One of the chained protesters hinted earlier today that they will not vacate the park without some kind of fight. "We're going to remain peaceful but we're also not going to just go shuffling off into the darkness. That's not how you win freedom."

We'll have more if and when a raid occurs.
