What Does It Mean To Be a Human Being?

An exhibition of portraits from Jordan Bower's recent trip to Nepal and India shows a view of the world that few of us here get to experience.

Bower's images reflect some of his travel adventures. In India he spent hours caged in queues with thousands of Hindu devotees while waiting to leave a wish with a local idol. And in Nepal he hiked through the Himalayas to a forbidden kingdom.

He's teamed up with The World Heritage Project, a local NGO focused on utilizing photography to promote and protect the UNESCO world heritage sites.

Bower's show, what does it mean to be a human being? opens on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 8 p.m. at Insomnia Cafe, 563 Bloor St. W. (at Bathurst) and runs until March 3.

What does it mean to you to be a human being?
