#BlueFlu sweeps Toronto on eve of Jays playoff start

Mayor John Tory raised a Blue Jays flag above City Hall yesterday. And, a banner announcing the Jays as the AL East champs will soon appear at the Rogers Centre. This all means that playoff season is officially here.

With the Jays heading into the ALDS tomorrow, many fans were stunned to learn that the Thursday and Friday home games would start during regular work hours, at 3:37 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. respectively.

On Monday, Pitcher R.A. Dickey took to Twitter, advocating to turn Thursday and Friday into national holidays (an extra-long Thanksgiving weekend does sound ideal). While some companies are giving their employees the two afternoons off, not everyone can consider themselves so lucky.

Some are already complaining of a Blue Flu epidemic while others hope to stream the first two home games in their boardrooms. Mayor John Tory wants to set up a giant screen in Nathan Phillips Square, reports the Toronto Star, but there are still no details on whether or not this will actually happen.

How will you get out of work? Will you call in sick? Take a vacation day? Blame the TTC? Here's what fans on Twitter had to say.
