Name: Freddie

Age: 30

What neighbourhood are you from? Parkdale

What do you 'do'? I work and I make music.

How long have you been in Toronto? All my life.

What's your story?

I'm trying to start my own label called ManMan Entertainment. I produce hip-hop, R&B and reggae. I write music. I've always written music since I was a child. I began with poetry and from there, it transcended into music. My friend has a recording studio so I can make my music there and not pay the crazy rates. When I'm not doing that, I dance.

To pay the bills, I'm all over the place.

Favorite thing(s) about Toronto:

This is a hard one. There are so many things. Every summer, I go to Caribana and I've only missed it once because I had the chicken pox.

Least favorite thing(s) about Toronto:

Even though I was born here, I'd say winter.

You have 24 hours to spend with someone who's never been to Toronto before - what do you do?

I'd probably take them to the CN Tower first - if it was summer - and then to the CNE and Wonderland. I'd probably also take them to a club.

One thing that your friends/family don't know about you:

I used to suck my thumb until I was 11 years-old. One day, I quit cold turkey. I think it was the threat of getting braces.
