Toronto Gift Guide: GelaSkins custom skin for iPhone 4

It's day number ten of my quest to find some of the best gifts in Toronto. Today's pick: GelaSkins custom iPhone 4 skins. My Blackberry is currently in the shop due to "LCD impact damage". Clumsiness and two curious dogs ensure that I'll never have anything nice. And if I do, it'll be quickly ruined. GelaSkins might not have saved my LCD screen, but I should take all of the protection I can get.

This Toronto-based company provides scratch-proof "skins" for laptops, gadgets and phones in the form of sticky die-cut works of art. While buyers can choose from 100s of pre-designed skins by emerging and world-renowned artists, I quite like the custom design option.

GelaSkins Custom

Via a user-friendly program on the GelaSkins website, anyone can upload photos or artwork to create a custom protective skin for any gadget. A brand new feature allows buyers to create them in custom laptop sizes too (for people like me with embarrassingly obsolete Powerbooks).

Additional specs: Free shipping on orders over $50 in December

Best for: Thoughtful gifting or gettin' lucky (A smooshy couple-photo for your girlfriend's iPad? Please, it's in the bag.)

What it'll cost you: iPhone 4 skin $14.95 (other styles vary)
