It's Fine & Good at Trove

Trove, the stylish accessories boutique at Bloor and Bathurst is holding an opening reception for jewellery artist, Amiee Kennedy on Thursday, October 5, 2006 from 4 - 9pm. Amiee Kennedy is the designer for her company Fine & Good.

I first noticed Amiee's work at Made you Look in Parkdale. The cherry shaped earrings and pendant that were made out of glass were so cute. She creates others types of jewellery with glass like bracelets, necklaces, hair sticks/ties and pins. Lampworking is the technique Amiee uses to create the tiny details on the colourful jewellery collection. I did end up buying a pair of stud earrings in a Violet Streak colour.

Amiee has a strong background in the arts. She is a graduate of York University's (my Alma mater) Fine Arts program and has taken specialized courses in Lampworking. It will come as no surprise that she has another discipline, Silversmithing. Using silver and gold, Amiee creates bracelets, necklaces and chains. I'm pretty partial to the bubble link chain.

You can find items from the Fine & Good collections all over the city. However on Thursday many one of a kind and rare pieces will be on display at the reception. Head on over to Trove if you are looking for that unique piece that no one will have.

Trove just recently renovated and incorporated their shoe store Shoon into one building. It's now a one stop shop for accessories. They carry many brands of shoes including Bos & Co., Fly London, Clarks and Rocket Dog. Trove also has a small selection of apparel from designers Umsteigen, Cherry Blossom Designs, Frances Felt, House of Spy and Wonderlust.
