Toronto is getting a new farmers' market in an area that desperately needs one

While farmers' markets in Toronto are a staple in the summer, certain areas of the city don't have as many as the others.

Food security non-profit organization Feed Scarborough is here to change that. Starting June 3, the organization is setting up three mobile farmers' markets in Scarborough.

Feed Scarborough's markets will run in the following places every Saturday:

  • Cataraqui Market at 40 Firvalley: 11 a.m. - 12.30 p.m.
  • Oakridge Market at 3400 Danforth Ave: 1 p.m. - 2.30 p.m.
  • Birchmount Market at 1859 Kingston Road: 3 p.m.- 4.30 p.m.

The goal of these farmers' markets is to bring affordable, fresh produce to the community.
