Jamaican restaurant nailed with 11 infractions by Toronto health inspectors

A Jamaican restaurant was just flagged for a total of 11 infractions by Toronto health inspectors.

Mainsha at 3275 Dufferin serves Jamaican food like oxtail, goat, and fish along with fried, jerk, BBQ or curry chicken.

The restaurant was issued a conditional pass on March 21.

Of the 11 infractions, one was crucial, five were significant and five were minor.

The one crucial infraction was for failing to protect food from contamination.

The five significant infractions included not removing garbage when necessary, not maintaining records of pest control measures taken, failing to "keep sanitary facility sanitary," and handwashing stations not being conveniently accessible by food handlers.

The five minor infractions included the food handling room not being maintained in sanitary condition with clean floors and ceiling, and free from equipment not regularly used.
