toronto weather forecast

Toronto could come very close to hitting 20 C this week

This is not a belated April Fool's joke — there is a very high probability that southern Ontario (Toronto included) will hit the 20-degree celsius mark this week.

Last week, the Weather Network predicted that Toronto would be sitting around the 14-degree mark in the coming days, but it appears there is room to warm up.

The last prediction from the agency says that April 5 will see southern Ontario edging to that 20-degree threshold.

A Colorado Low — a weather system that brings in wind and snow — will wreak havoc on northern and central Ontario with snow and ice, but bring the exact opposite effect to the southern portion of the province.

As the storm travels, it will bring warmth to the GTHA and surrounding areas, with Toronto predicted to see temperatures of 19 C or more.

Hamilton, London, Windsor, Niagara Falls and Chatham are also expected to feel the heat, with temperatures expected to hit the upper teens into the 20 C territory.

But it probably won't be a good day for a beer in the park; there is a chance of thunderstorm conditions and strong winds, some exceeding 60 kilometres/hour.

But if predictions are correct, this will be the first time Ontario sees a 20-degree reading for 2023.
