11 notable Toronto businesses that closed in June

A number of Toronto businesses shut their doors just as summer kicked off. This month's casualties include restaurants, boutiques, clubs, print shops and cafes.

Here are the most notable Toronto businesses that closed in June.

69 Vintage
Following 12 years on West Queen West, this vintage clothing shop shut down after a giant contents sale at the end of May. Despite the store closure, 69 Vintage lives with pop-up events and online shopping.

Caffe Brasiliano
The Dundas West stalwart is papered up. Rumour has it Craig Harding of Campagnolo is taking it over and is expected to open a new all-day eatery in the months to come.

F-Stop
This King West nightclub went out with a bang after a good five year run. The final party took place on June 20.

Joy Bistro
The popular Leslieville restaurant quietly closed this month and is already being converted to the Barrio Cerveceria, a new Mexican restaurant from Ted Koutsogiannopoulos, the original owner of Joy Bistro. He also owns McGugan's, Aprile Bambina Cucina and the Loaded Pierogi.

Kid Icarus Parkdale
The final weekend for this print shop's Parkdale outpost was June 26th. You'll still find the flagship location going strong at 205 Augusta Ave. in Kensington Market.

Leigh & Harlow
This Queen West boutique called it quits mid-month. The shop carried a collection of men's and women's fashion brands from around the world.

The Lowdown
The lowdown on this subterranean bar under Torito Tapas Bar in Kensington Market is that both bar manager and promoter have moved on to new projects. While the space might reopen if a new partner can be found, it will likely be used for private events in the meantime.

Luce
The casual Italian eatery on King West closed mid month. Regulars have been leaving their condolences and well wishes to the owners on Facebook.

Majesteas
The loose leaf tea shop and cafe in Leslieville shut its doors on June 26 after seven years in business.

Porter House
Toronto vegans will surely mourn the loss of this all-vegan public house on Dundas West. The Brit-style pub poured its last pint on June 26.

The Wine Swine
The short-lived "Gastro Wine Pub" shuttered right before the months end.
