Your morning news roundup AND POLL for Tuesday October 9th, 2007:

Normal temperatures for Oct 8th are 16째C, but yesterday we reached a whopping 32째C (making it hotter here than it was in Florida and Jamaica). I spotted a thoroughly confused dandelion in full bloom on my lawn.

Tomorrow is Election and Referendum day. Are you prepared to vote? The Star has a decent summary on the parties and their stances on issues affecting the GTA, you can watch the leader's debate again, and if you're still confused about the election reform referendum question, it helps to spend some time learning about the options. Check out our poll here as well (continue reading).

A Brampton man beat on a drum for 110h straight (that's about 4.5 days), breaking the Guinness world record. By taking 4-minute yoga meditation breaks every 10 hours and fueling up on soup and fruit juices, Jagjit Singh Batalvi was able to complete the feat.

Once again street racing and aggressive driving are responsible for horrific crashes on our roadways (one resulting in death, and the other in significant injury). Police have seized 324 vehicles since last week, when new laws gave them new powers.

Three teens in the Niagara region were hospitalized after eating the common Jimson weed with the intent to get high from its poison. Doesn't sound like much fun to me.

A poll you can vote in, after the jump...
