Morning Brew: February 26th, 2007

Your morning news roundup for Monday February 26th, 2007:

Gas shortages continue, and now some stations are limiting customers to a maximum of 75L. I guess massive cars/vans won't be able to fill up in one stop.

One of the main reasons for the gas shortage is no longer, as the CN Rail strike ends with an agreement and workers returning to the job today. Let's see how long it takes for prices to reflect the news.

Today marks the beginning of the Toronto City Summit - a pep rally of sorts where our brightest minds discuss how to improve Toronto. The meeting represents a platform for Mayor Miller to campaign for that slice of federal funding he's been wanting.

The province has declared the City of Toronto a "high risk employer" because of a poor health and safety record. This happened in June, but most members of the labour relations committee only learned of it now. Maybe they didn't check their junk mail.

Ontario pulled a bunch of slot machines from its casinos because they flashed subliminal "jackpot" messages at gamblers. The company that makes the machines is calling it a "software glitch".
